TYRANT: First Song From Upcoming CD Posted Online
January 29, 2009Veteran Tasmanian hard rock band TYRANT has uploaded the first song from its upcoming 25th-anniversary album, which is currently being recorded in Hobart. According to a release, the track "Defenders Of The Faith" is "a salute to 'old-school' metal bands and features the typical TYRANT crunch while incorporating a slightly modern direction for the band." A demo version of the same song was uploaded in late 2008 — shortly after singer Neil Steel's "head-on" car crash, with Steel now having recovered fully.
TYRANT's new CD, appropriately titled "Head On", will feature six songs and is slated for a June/July release.
TYRANT exploded onto the scene way back in 1983 and released a chart-topping album in Tasmania in 1984 with the band's debut EP, "Never Too Loud". After a quarter of century of blasting out tenacious, attitude-filled hard rock, TYRANT is about to unleash its "anniversary" release.
TYRANT is:
Neil "Steel" Wilson - Vocals
Grant Wallace - Guitar
Andrew Zarins - Guitar
Andy Hatton - Bass
Robert Zarins - Drums
